The main event
Fishing, all the way down
- Where, when and what weather decide what bites. Some fish only come out at night, in fog, or for the right bait.
- Reel it in yourself: match the fish's moves before time runs out. A perfect reel lands it 10% heavier.
- Fill your Fishdex and break server records. Firsts and records can be announced in your fishing channel.
- Marisol the merchant sells bait and rods, and posts three bounties a day. In the browser game she has a stall at the end of the pier.
- Treasure chests turn up in the junk, sometimes with a map to a big fish you haven't caught.
- Play it in your browser at fish.sherbabot.com: the same fish, points and Fishdex, with everyone from your server fishing beside you.

In your server in a minute
- Open install.sherbabot.com and pick your server. Discord asks for Manage Server there, as it does for any bot.
- Approve the permissions. The bot uses them to reply, open threads for pets and the fishing guide, and announce level-ups.
- Say hi:
!helplists everything, or jump straight in with!fish.
Everything is on straight away, except farewell roasts: they're for premium servers, because each one costs the bot's owner money.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. There's nothing to buy: points are earned in the bot, only exist for fun, and can't be bought, sold or transferred.
Where are the slash commands?
SherbaBot uses ! commands, like !fish and !remind. Mentioning the bot works too: @SherbaBot ping. If a server has a bot channel, commands work there.
What does it keep about my server?
For each server: levels, points, pets, bait and rods, every fish caught (for the Fishdex and records), death roll debts, suggestions and settings. If the bot is removed, the game data is kept for 90 days in case you add it back, then deleted. Death roll debts, settings and suggestions are kept for good. In premium servers with farewell roasts on, a sample of a departing member's recent messages is sent to Anthropic's API to write one.
Can I fish without typing commands?
Yes: fish.sherbabot.com is the same fishing as a game. Log in with Discord, pick your server, and walk the pier with everyone else who's fishing. It works on phones too.
Where are the docs?
docs.sherbabot.com has guides and every command. It's for members of servers with SherbaBot: log in with Discord to read it.
The bot left as soon as I added it
It DMs the server owner to say why. Either the bot isn't joining new servers for a while (try again later), or the server or its owner has been blocked.
